Powerful tools for nation-building include education and training. It gives people the chance to change their knowledge, attitudes, and values for the better in a way that can support long-term growth and peace. Education has the ability to eradicate bigotry of various kinds, including racial and religious prejudice. Along with fostering rapid industrialisation and development, having the necessary knowledge and abilities will help African countries manage conflicts, mitigate the risks of climate change, stop the spread of small arms and light weapons, and strengthen/secure national borders.

One of the Institute’s mandates is to educate and equip peacebuilders with the tools they need to work for transformative and sustainable peace at the local, national, regional, and global levels.
